Biography
I am an artist who sometimes illustrates and sometimes graphic designs and sometimes makes art for fun, but not always in that order. This is my blog for recording artwork, photos and thoughts from my home at the northern most point of the north American continent.
I live wih my husband, daughter and son and one dog. We live in polar bear country, along with snowy owls, arctic fox, and many types of birds in the summertime.
I had the opportunity to illustrate a children's book called Turtle, Turtle, Watch Out!, written by April Sayre, and it will be out in February 2010 from Charlesbridge.
My first book, Whale Snow, written by Debby Edwardson, was published by Charlesbridge in 2003. Whale Snow won these awards in 2004:

music, animals, foreign movies, people who live creatively, other illustrators, picking blackberries, watching the ocean, reading to my daughter and son, my family, love, watercolor painting, collecting beach glass and other ocean treasures, looking at books and blogs, discovering new color mixtures, sketchbooks (mine and other peoples)
