Norway~Bazar Tales

I did some illustrations for Norwegian book publisher Bazar Tales last spring. They are publishing a 3 volume folk tale anthology with stories from around the world, sponsored by Princess Märtha Louise of Norway. She is an avid children's book supporter and storyteller. The story I illustrated is an Alaskan tale about raven and the whale. In English it's called 'The Whale's Soul and It's Burning Heart', in Norwegian it's called "Hvalens sjel og dens brennende hjerte". Raven flies into the whale's mouth and finds a girl living inside in a tidy, warm room. She invites him in but warns him not to touch her glowing lamp. She acts peculiar and keeps getting up and going outside. Raven is naughty and cant resist, in the end he does touch the lamp and the girl dies. She was the whale's soul and the lamp was her heart. When she would get up to go outside, the whale would be taking a breath. The website has stories online now from the first book, and maybe the second. I can't read Norwegian but there are lots of illustrations to look at! I think there were over 70 illustrators in the first book. I'm waiting for the hard copy book to arrive in the mail. Can't wait! What a cool job! Your pictures look great, I wish I could read the story. Do you mean literally " the Princess of Norway" ? I love that the main site has a link that says: Trolls!. By the way, I think it's cool you're listening to Feist, she was born here I think and Mushaboom is a typically wierd place name from here. Marshy Hope is my favorite N.S. place name. And Dagger woods. Newfoundland is way worse Pacenta Bay? And that's one of the place names thatI'm not too embarassed to say. Of course you live above a Jackass mountain.

Thanks everybody! It might be published in English in the future, they said. I hope so!
I'm not even sure what the exact title is yet, I'll know once my copy of the book arrives. :)
